This exercise underscores the importance of aligning one’s goals with the broader objectives of their recovery journey, promoting a balanced approach to recovery and personal growth.

THE RIGHT TO WRITE

In "The Right to Write" segment, participants delve into the therapeutic art of storytelling, a vital tool in how to overcome addiction. This workshop inspires individuals to articulate their journey, initiating with the introspective prompt, “What is the title of your book?” They embark on writing a journey that could take the form of a short story, a novel loosely based on their lives, or an authentic memoir.  This process is integral to recovery, capturing their story from the beginning, through challenges or “the murky middle,” and leading to redemption. It's a critical element of addiction recovery solutions, offering a creative outlet for expression and a reflective mirror for personal understanding and healing.

THE MASK YOU LIVE IN

Following the viewing, they participate in a discussion led by their facilitator, involving probing questions tailored to their individual situations. This process helps them identify and confront the "masks" they've been wearing—those old voices, behaviors, or, metaphorically speaking, “software or programs” that no longer serve their recovery and personal growth. This session is vital for clients to gain self-awareness, initiate transformation, and discard outdated self-perceptions and habits that hinder their progress toward a truly sober and fulfilling life.

This involves creating structured time blocks in their calendars dedicated to "Project: Me." Each week, they focus on activities that foster self-care, creativity, entrepreneurship, and exercise. This methodical approach helps clients remain steadfast in their commitments, building a foundation of meaningful, productive habits as they progress through their first year of recovery from addiction.

"The Post It / Word of the Year" uses a simple yet effective method for goal setting and reflection. Clients choose a word that represents their focus for the year, either to encourage positive behavior or to diminish negative habits, reinforcing their commitment to both recovery and personal growth. This simple yet profound practice is a cornerstone of mindful recovery, serving as a daily reminder to sustain progress in overcoming addiction and fostering a life of fulfillment and purpose.

A VALUES EXERCISE

"A Values Exercise" addresses challenges related to accountability and routine, a common hurdle in the recovery process. Here, clients define their values and goals in their own words, creating a personal commitment to live by. This critical exploration facilitates a deeper connection to one’s personal mission, enhancing the effectiveness of recovery programs by embedding a sense of purpose and direction. This exercise ensures there's no ambiguity in one’s path forward, reinforcing the importance of aligning actions with personal values.

THE LIES WE TELL OURSELVES

plus signminus sign
This introspective session utilizes "The Lies We Tell Ourselves" to illuminate the self-deceptions that complicate addiction and recovery. The insights from a video clip of Tony Robbins' "I’m Not Your Guru" show our clients what it looks like to lie, and what it feels like to live a lie. Following the video clip, we shift the focus directly onto the clients, pointing the light on them to reveal underlying fears and insecurities that drive them to lie to themselves repeatedly. Through guided reflection, participants learn to recognize and dismantle these falsehoods, paving the way for recovery solutions that embrace truthfulness and integrity. It’s a pivotal moment that champions honesty as the foundation of a recovery journey, essential for personal and professional growth.

WHAT I DON’T WANT

This exercise, a cornerstone of recovery solutions, empowers them to eliminate negative influences (old ways, dead items, and toxic people…) and focus on positive, constructive changes aligned with their recovery and personal growth goals.

THE DIGITAL SCRUB

This practical step involves removing negative influences from social media, apps, and contact lists, fostering a healthier life environment that supports sobriety and personal growth.
